When choosing a moving company, compare what each quote includes. One may cover transport alone; another may also include carrying, packing or furniture disassembly. Send each provider the same item list and details of both addresses so you can compare like for like.
What information helps a company quote accurately?
Photograph your largest furniture, estimate the number of boxes and explain what still needs packing. For both addresses, give the floor, lift availability and carrying distance from the entrance to the vehicle. Include a photo if the stairwell is narrow.
Mention pianos, safes, aquariums, glass cabinets and other heavy or fragile items before booking. Furniture dimensions also help the team determine whether disassembly will be needed.
How should you compare two quotes?

A lower hourly rate does not automatically produce a lower total. Compare the estimated duration and all terms. If the duration is approximate, ask what could extend it.
A worked price example
At Mes Jau Čia, two movers and a van cost €65 per hour excluding VAT, with a two-hour minimum booking. For example, three hours at this rate would cost €195 excluding VAT, or €235.95 including 21% VAT. This illustrates the calculation; it does not mean your move will take three hours.
An additional mover costs €30 per hour excluding VAT. Evening and weekend work uses a 1.5 multiplier. Check our rates and booking terms before ordering.
What should you ask about protection and liability?
Ask who will pack fragile items, how furniture corners will be protected and how the load will be secured. The word “insured” alone does not explain the insurance type, amount or conditions.
Our civil liability insurance amount is €120,000. Policy terms and exclusions apply. Discuss particularly valuable or unusual items before confirming your booking.
What matters when planning a move in Vilnius?
Check where the vehicle can stop at both addresses. Tell the company about courtyard gates, restricted access, lift dimensions and your key handover time. This helps plan the work and reduces decisions on moving day.

Do I need a fixed-price moving quote?
No. An hourly rate can work well when its terms are clear. Ask for the estimated duration, minimum booking and conditions for additional work. A fixed-price quote should also state the scope it covers.
Is furniture disassembly included?
Agree this before booking. Send furniture photos and identify the pieces that need dismantling and reassembling at the destination.
